I wonder who is going to play you in the movie version?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36756953.post-76432488079626777132008-11-10T23:52:00.000-05:002008-11-10T23:52:00.000-05:00See, my problem is that I don't understand any of ...See, my problem is that I don't understand any of the sailing terminology. I try to noodle it out from your description, but it seems like a scene from one of those World's Deadliest Catch TV shows.
Not being parents, you may not know the feeling you have when your kid has been out all night and, at the wee hour of his arrival home, you confront him with a crash of emotional turmoil--you are so thankful he's safe that you just want to hug him, and you are so mad you want to kill him. All at the same time.
Likewise, I am fearful for you and proud of you at the same time. I want you to be there because this is exactly what you both want to be doing, but I want to drag you off that boat and haul you home and tuck you safely in, grounding you both for the rest of your lives for doing things so dangerous. Don't you know you could put an eye out doing that stuff? HA

It is not easy to be me--a relatively timid non-risk-taker who comes to a full stop at every stop sign, even when there are no cars for miles, with a horse in this race. Egads. When you finally arrive in Antigua, perhaps you should just build a grass hut, make those cute little umbrellas for tourist's drinks and stay there for a good long while. At least long enough for your bruises and burns to heal. Sheesh!

Much love, hugs and slaps up the side of your heads to you! Be safe and enjoy the improving weather. And most of all, thank you for continuing to write. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36756953.post-39255150908237232972008-11-10T08:28:00.000-05:002008-11-10T08:28:00.000-05:00Well at least you've still got your senses of humo...Well at least you've still got your senses of humor, waterlogged though they may be! ;-)

That sadistic sgt. master Neptune must have been taking out all his hostility and anger against you two for successfully overcoming the ridiculously difficult challenges he'd already put in your way. What a nightmare about the forestay!! And after all that, you managed to come out of it practically unscathed, and under the worst of conditions too!! CONGRATULATIONS!!

Just think, your "initiation" is almost over, you're almost there! I can see you now.... sipping those umbrella drinks in your T-shirts and shorts... Way to go!! Enjoy your success - you two deserve every bit of it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
